Each fall, FIT’s Sustainability Council dedicates a week to events and discussions to promote sustainability within the fashion industry, a key component of FIT’s mission. During this year’s Sustainability Awareness Week, held October 14–18, 2019, the FIT community learned about and experienced recent developments in this area. The week featured 29 panels and workshops such as Building Models of Inclusion, The Paperless Office, Solutions for the Circular Economy, and Green Roofs, as well as events like a greenmarket offering our deeply urban campus a rural infusion.
