A High-Tech
Sustainability Showcase

The Loop for Good was a clothing swap and experiential sustainability pop-up event created to promote circularity in the fashion industry and encourage consumers to reuse and recycle their clothing. On Nov. 20–21, the event brought together students, faculty, and local businesses under one roof to promote many different facets of sustainability. Numerous activities promoted conservation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative technologies.

Many elements were funded by a 2019–20 grant from FIT’s Sustainability Council, including: collecting and donating clothes for a clothing swap, upcycling post-consumer textiles, incorporating the natural dye garden, collecting and repurposing discarded building materials, collaborating across campus and with the larger community, and integrating innovative technologies into the planning process.
