Extended Reality For
Knitting Instruction
To enhance teaching, higher education has incorporated 3D-based instructions using augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR), together known as extended reality (ER). However, research into knitting visualization using ER has yet to be explored. Traditional knitting class instructions include describing and demonstrating various knit structures and preparing students to create the demonstrated fabrics. Since different small-sized stitches (e.g., knit, purl, tuck and miss) are closely interlooped in the knitted fabric, it can be difficult to visualize the knit construction.
