The Faculty Research and Innovation Space (FRIS) is an interdisciplinary technology research location intended to foster work across FIT’s schools. It supports the college’s commitment to technology, innovation, and exploration, along with research and development. Within this facility, faculty learn about and test out technology and its classroom applications. FRIS, headed by James Pearce, technical manager in information technology, provides an opportunity for faculty to test these innovations before bringing them into the classroom. Faculty can explore on their own or collaborate, and can even bring their classes to FRIS.
