The popularity of athleisure–garments that blur the line between active and casual wear — has exploded recently. Athleisure is now carried by just about every major brand to  specialized brands such as Lululemon and Kith. This trend also has given independent athletic wear designers an opportunity to thrive. Vanessa Mickalonis, a recent Fashion Design graduate, is one such designer. She pushes the boundaries of what these functional garments can offer by incorporating built-in water containers and herbal pouches for aromatherapy.
