Evrnu is a textile technology startup, created by Stacy Flynn, Textile Development and Marketing ’98. The idea for it began during a routine factory audit in China, where she was alarmed by how much pollution and waste textile production caused. Flynn wondered, “Is there a way of taking all this garment waste and converting it to a new fiber?” To answer this question, she reached out to Christopher Stanev, a Bulgarian-American textile chemist whom Flynn had worked with at Target. Together, they developed a method of taking donated fabrics and refining them to create a new type of fiber from which new garments could be made.
