Md Imranul (Imran) Islam, PhD, MBA, MEng.

Assistant Professor of Textile Development and Marketing

Imran Islam, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Textile Development and Marketing Department at FIT. He holds a PhD in Sustainability in Textiles and Apparel from Kansas State University, MBA in Marketing, MEngg in Advanced Engineering Management, and BS in Textile Technology. Dr. Islam’s expertise includes sustainability, life cycle analysis, textile fibers and yarns, knitting and knit product development, textile testing and analysis, and application of textile technology to design. He is an author/co-author of over 40 grants, peer-reviewed journal publications, and conference presentations, and has presented at national and international conferences. Dr. Islam is an active member of several professional societies and organizations including the International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA) and American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC).

Preeti Arya

Preeti Arya, PhD

Assistant Professor of Textile Development and Marketing

Preeti Arya, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Textile Development and Marketing Department at FIT. She holds a PhD degree in Textile Science Technology and Engineering from Eastern Michigan University and MS and BS degrees in Clothing & Textile from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in India. Her expertise and areas of interest in research include textile chemical finishing and wet processing, product development, analytical textile testing and analysis, performance textiles, application of textile technology to a design, and fiber and textile surface morphology.. Arya has presented at several research and industrial conferences and her publications and research abstracts have been accepted at national and international conferences. She is a member of professional societies and organizations including the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), World Association of Natural Fibers Research (WANFR) and International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA).
